Bucky our Beaver's Ship turned "home" sits on Walden Pond, not alone. A Tiny Houseboat Story to see.
Beneath a boat, on a manmade pond, beavers & otters share fish where they roam. Birds settle in as frogs sing full out, the sunsets in Salvage, Tx are but dreams acted out.
Beneath the silhouette of the Ship of Salvaged Dreams awaits the darkness to take off and fly above unseen. Upon the shore of Gilligan’s lore, a wrecked ship sits where the beaver has shown he can make a lakehouse with reeds and trees that he chiseled down to build with free wood. After building so many houses with salvage and free wood, I must admire a beaver who does so and proves that not just humans can build with salvage and refuse. Savor the moments, and perhaps through the days, you will see what is important that nature displays. Or perhaps you are stuck in the citified Daze.
I wondered at the size he picked, 3-4’. He’s cut the trunks of a dozen trees that he chewed down. He’d trim the branches before cutting the tree in parts at night. Sometimes when I’d be walking home near midnight in the dark, I’d roam, and he would jump into the pond, like a person splashing, big and gone before I could flash a light on him. Now I know where he goes, yes, I know where he lives.
I do not plan to hurt the boy who likely wants to join with some cute beaver wife to breed some baby beavers we may see. I must admit, though, as I view the many trees it took to do the walls, who knows what’s within, cabinets, closets, and a small kitchen? I may drill a hold to see below the boat if it holds me and shines a light, make a video, then perhaps I might know what a beaver house needs to be whole. I wonder if the beaver will try to move down to Dragons Lair cave under the water? I don’t think I want that so the boat looks really fine as a place for all the beaver families that I may ever find.
