The biggest issue w creating a healthy intentional community is finding honest people who all work to make it a success
So many people want to find their tribe but so few been created as a million leave crime ridden cities seeking a rural life they believe will be better. Where is that place that wants them?
Find the money, the land, then tiny houses, but there is an issue, most need more money to get started. NO great solutions without someone to help pay for them. I see many who want to move into such intentional communities. Still, they have nothing to contribute, barely have life skills, many are sickly, can not support themselves, and hope for a community to care for them.
That is not happening from what I am seeing. The anarchists in trailers wanting spaces to live without laws or rules and to party hardy all the time are not the community I would look for at 66, nor are many yet for many. That is the goal. The biggest issue with creating a healthy intentional community is finding honest-minded people who all want to work to make it a success instead of just riding on the coattails of those who do the work all day, day after day.
Intentional communities require hard-working ants, not grasshoppers, to grow. Most people are grasshoppers... taking without any contribution and not feeling guilty as it is simply their nature. After having had hundreds over a dozen years of that type come here to stay in Salvage, show their actions do not include participation in the work it takes to create a home, gardens with chickens, trees, and what you need to make a village grow. Most want it finished to move in like a subdivision with a gate and fence.
Sadly for the lack of contribution to being part of the solutions, they sometimes must be forced to leave, even evicted, never having paid a $ for anything. I wonder at the attitudes of those entitled who approve of living off the work of mii and you instead of thinking about what they, too, could do. Is this a global problem or American in store for anyone exposed to our culture for too long? What is the problem for the people who keep failing all the tests to be balanced humans who gives back more than Wii take? It is not the land, houses, or utilities that make a community but the communication that brings unity, the truth I very seldom see honored first.
Please join me in creating these examples of what’s waiting if you choose to grow a home or village too. I will help you with a plan, help finance some if I can, and create a path that few will take, though true. It all depends on you. What will You do?
Let us know if you can start a Pure Salvage Outpost in your part of the woods. Wii can help you get started through this library you have found on Substack and can support us if you are financially able, read most of what I write for free if not. You get discounts and my conference, perhaps a chance to come and learn a package design for the parts you pick.
Many benefits will follow as you share and help others who need homes that will fit the world of change. Master Suites to sleep in, houses for the kitchen, and the table for the gathering of friends. With the bath house for the others who may visit, camp, or start out with a tiny house such as the Kidd or Gingered Swann until the option comes.
Blessings to your journey to create a house like this again. I did it once to prove it can be done. Your turn to show me how much better you can do it now instead of simply copying everything. For some is one of a kind, my friends, the thing that makes it special with magic, no pretend. Love is magic when transformed with imagination at the core and a heart the gives and never ends.
